SELEUKID KINGS. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.18 g, 11 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris II, circa 296/5-281. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEΥK[OΥ] Athena, brandishing spear overhead in her right hand and holding shield in her left, standing right in quadriga of elephants moving to right; above to right, anchor right; behind Athena and in exergue, monograms. HGC 9, 18a. SC 130.30 var. (position of upper monogram). Lightly toned. Some striking weakness, otherwise, very fine.
